| SWIFT is
an industry owned co-operative supplying secure messaging services and
interface software to over 7,000 financial institutions in 194 countries. SWIFT FIN message traffic reached a record 1.8 billion messages in 2002, growing by 18.5% over the previous year. The drivers for this traffic increase are customer payments, payment market infrastructures and continued growth in securities messages. |

| The
average daily value of payment messages on SWIFT is estimated to be above
USD 5 trillion. They provide messaging services to banks, broker-dealers
and investment managers, as well as to market infrastructures in payments,
treasury, securities and trade. These services help their customers reduce
costs, improve automation and manage risk. SWIFT's trusted third-party status extends beyond market infrastructures and the internet. The international nature of our shareholders and our industry-owned co-operative structure have helped them to shape best practice in the financial industry and act as a forum to advance critical dialogue on industry-level issues and opportunities. |
